Jump to RecipeSpring is here! It’s getting warmer outside which means smoothies are once again a daily staple in my diet. Since increasing my physical activity thanks to the sunny weather, I am needing some extra hydration. I have plenty of smoothie recipes that I keep on rotation throughout the year, but this one is unlike many of my chocolate based smoothies! I was craving some citrus, which gave me an idea– a healthy orange creamsicle! Besides using smoothies as a snack or meal replacement, I have been really enjoying them to replenish after a tough workout or long day in the sun.
How I made this orange creamsicle healthy
Sure, I could buy the typical sugar-filled electrolyte drinks that lack nutrients and are filled with artificial flavors and colors. But, why would I when there are options out there like Karviva ACE Sports drinks? These drinks not only have electrolytes, but also collagen and antioxidants for optimal hydration and replenishment.
While searching for a post workout drink at Central Market, I came across Karviva and was immediately inspired when I saw their Sunny Orange flavored drink.
Orange creamsicles remind me of my childhood and I can’t tell you the last time I had one! So I rushed home and whipped up this Healthy Creamsicle Smoothie. It was super simple and only 4 ingredients. One tip I will give for the recipe: freeze your fruit! It makes the smoothie extra creamy and frosty and requires less additional ice (or none at all). Start blending!
