Top 5 Tips for Hosting a Healthy Party for the Big Game!
It’s that time of the year again in football season– we are getting close to the big game! Whether you are a football fan or not, there’s a good chance you might be hosting or participating in a watch party for Sunday’s game. (Or maybe you’re watching for the commercials and the 2020 Puppy Bowl like me!) Whatever your reason for partaking in the festivities, there are two essentials on everyone’s mind for the big game– game day food and drinks!
Instead of filling your belly with the common junk, processed, gluten-filled foods, I am giving you my top 5 healthy tips and tricks for hosting for the big day:
Tip 1: Make your own gluten free pizza!!!
When you think of food to eat while watching an intense game of football, pizza always comes to mind. However, a typical takeout or delivery pizza is loaded with unhealthy ingredients (ah hello gluten?!). Instead make your own pizza with your choice of healthy and delicious toppings using BFree Stone Baked Pizza Crust. You can have your pizza hot and ready in only 10 minutes Plus all of BFree foods are not only gluten free, but also dairy free, vegan friendly, and made with non-GMO ingredients. Come up with your own combo, or try this BBQ Pulled Jackfruit Pizza. I found the BFree products at Kroger here in Fort Worth, TX. The Pizza Crusts are also now available in Aldi in Illinois and Pennsylvania for a limited time– so hurry to your local Aldi!
Tip 2: Switch fried processed chips for baked pita chips
I honestly didn’t even know pre-made gluten free pita bread existed until I found BFree Baked Pita Bread–total game changer! You can make your own gluten free baked pita chips with ease. All you do is cut the pita into little strips or triangles, place on a lined baking sheet, and bake for 7-9 minutes at 400 F. Serve with your favorite dips!
Tip 3: Replace soft drinks and regular beer for Daura Damm Gluten Free Beer
Football and beer go together like gluten free bread and butter. That’s why Daura Damm Gluten Free Beer is an essential for celebrating the big game!
Tip 4: Include a fruit and veggie platter
When the game gets close and tensions get high, there’s a good chance you can find me reaching for the nearest snack. Mindless eating can cause us to completely derail our healthy habits. That’s why having a plate of snacks that are nourishing and completely guilt-free, like veggies and fruit, makes those moments of stress snacking less detrimental to your health.
Tip 5: Choose a guilt-free dessert
If you know me, there’s always a gluten free dessert included in any get together. The word “dessert” doesn’t need to be synonymous with unhealthy. I’ve got you covered with some of my favorite gluten free, guilt-free treats:
- 3-Ingredient Sweet Potato Nice Cream
- Edible Chocolate Chip Cookie Dough (makes a great dip for apples or pretzels!)
- Simple Butter Cookies (I dyed these using all natural superfood powders! Dye them to match your favorite team’s colors)
I hope you enjoy these easy, healthy gluten free tips for the upcoming big game!
