Although I have always had a passion for health and wellness, my personal wellness journey began when my sister and I were diagnosed with Celiac Disease in 2009, requiring us to transition to a gluten free lifestyle. The changes I had to make to my lifestyle gave me the opportunity expand my knowledge on health from a more holistic standpoint. I graduated from the University of Oklahoma with a Bachelor of Science in Health and Exercise Sciences and immediately began a graduate program in Public Health in my hometown of Fort Worth, Texas. During my studies, I became increasingly concerned with the prevalence of chronic disease and it was apparent that I needed to be part of the change. Afer graduating with my Master of Public Health, I began working at Cook Children’s Medical Center as a Research Project Manager. During my time in research, I have obtained my yoga certification as a Registered Yoga Teacher-200 hour and shortly after, started the Functional Medicine Coaching Academy (FMCA). I graduated from FMCA in August 2019 with training and education in Functional Medicine principles and positive psychology coaching techniques. My hope as a Functional Medicine Certified Health Coach is to assist people in achieving their optimal level of health and wellness, physically, mentally, emotionally, and spiritually.
